About Brita
Brita Loppnow is the founder of Nested Home Watch, providing professional home watch services for homeowners throughout Southern Maine.
Before launching Nested Home Watch, Brita built her career in Human Resources and business operations, including working at McKinsey & Company. Today, she is also a small business owner and HR consultant who advises organizations on compliance, organizational strategy and people operations. This background brings a strong sense of professionalism, trust, and attention to detail to the way she cares for clients’ homes.
Brita founded Nested Home Watch to give homeowners peace of mind while they are away. Her approach focuses on proactive home checks, clear communication, and thoughtful oversight so small issues can be identified before they become larger problems.
Brita is active in Maine’s entrepreneurial community. She was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year (2023) in Portland and volunteers with a local non-profit in addition to the Maine Center for Entrepreneurs to support local founders and small businesses.
When she’s not working, Brita enjoys paddleboarding or fishing along the Maine coast and spending time outdoors with her two dogs, Franklin and Marlowe, along with her partner, Justin.
Brita intentionally works with a limited number of clients so every visit is handled with care.

Nested Home Watch is supported by Justin Bernaiche, who brings complementary experience in property ownership and regulatory work. Having managed multi-unit properties, Justin has a practical understanding of how small maintenance issues can escalate.
In his professional role, he works in compliance, where precision and documentation are essential. Within Nested Home Watch, he supports the vetting and coordination of trusted vendors and service providers.
Together, Brita and Justin bring a balance of organization, property knowledge, and personal accountability to every home.
